Sat Apr 14, 2007The Roadblocks I started out with a drive & determination for the month of April. However, there were some roadblocks that kept me from doing what I wanted to do, things beyond my control. Things like, people getting in your way of your success, or disrupting your flow. Also, things that happen unexpectedly and you don't even know why. I told myself, every problem has a solution. And that's what I aimed to do.
My thoughts are when road blocks get in you way, you can either run through them, hurdle them, or go around them. But which is the best to do? I think a better way to evaluate this is not to say, how did the road block get their in the first place, but to expect the road block to be there "always." If you do this, it won't be unexpected fully, however, you'll be a bit more prepared for something getting in your way. Therefore, with any roadblock, you may pick & choose whether to hurdle, crush through, or go around the roadblock that stands before you & success.
My roadblocks right now are outside influences & unexpected things getting in my way. Many bloggers who have taken on the opportunity to make their blog successful have had additional time on their hands without other major obligations. My obligations are getting fully established with little to no "additional" revenue, and also additional work that can take up 60 + hours per week. This is a major roadblock I intend to overcome quickly. Overcoming it however, does take away from what my duties in blogging. This is why I haven't had a daily opportunity to blog on this M-blog as I wanted too. But here's the best thing, I had a vision for my month of April, & I did not fail to plan, therefore, I am able to assess, analyze, realize & continue on. And I can't wait to see what the day unfolds. The next few weeks will be greatly interesting.
Wed Apr 04, 2007Milestone Marker 1Okay, I wanted to start off this month with some our April goals. I have been going non-stop & have not had a great deal of time, between conducting interviews, working, working on the business, updating the sites, doing maintenance on the site, and research for interesting & new content. It's not that great when you are running out of funds as well, although, I never had much to begin with, hence the concept & the idea of this business.
However, overall, through this I've met some amazing people & continue to do so. This is why I know I'm on the right track & must put forth more effort. That means, sleep less & work more, hence the concept -- Less is More!
I've reached one milestone already. SPAM. I'm getting killed with it all over the TycoonsRow blog. Although it's great that spammers know of you site, or have crawlers that are trying to post on the site, but get caught up by Akismet, SPAM is just a specific nuisance. It's a major issue that must be stopped.
My April goals are the following:
1. Minimum of 5 posts per day.
2. Provide a weekly wrap-up, called Tycoons Turnaround.
3. Develop & launch our stealth feature for Tycoons Row.
4. Gain additional members of the Millionaire Face League.
5. Get a minimum of 50 RSS subscribers.
Currently, Tycoons Row is generating 5,000 unique hits per month. The goal is triple that rate this month. For Millionaire Faces, the idea is to match the number of hits this month as well. I've got my work cut out for myself.
Tue Mar 27, 2007The News Waits For No ManFor the past week, we've been focusing on research & gathering great articles. I find that I need to also focus on building the Millionaire Face League. This should be a primary focus & getting the word out. Also, I have thought about moving this blog to a wordpress blog, where there will be more functionality & users can comment anonymously. But I don't want to lose the brand that comes w/ this style of blogging. I also have opportunities for people to call in and leave their comments. I guess the real issue will be solved when more people are clamoring for an opportunity to join us.
This week has been crazy as I've been contacting candidates for interviews for the new media show. It's going to be fantastic. There are tons of candidates for the show & I'm looking forward to selecting one. Currently, I am doing one-on-one interviews w/ the candidates, who all are extremely talented. I wish I could select them all.

Thu Mar 22, 2007Interesting Developments Okay, so last week we were conducting interviews for an upcoming project that we are doing. This is just utterly amazing. It's funny, how much of my time goes by, by keeping up with other people, writing on this blog as well as conducting research, doing live interviews. This is definitely a full time job & I enjoy doing it. My passion is to meet many entreprneurs all over the world, from the beginning & aspiring entrepreneur all the way to the established & even retired entrepreneurs.
The model is so simple here at Millionaire Faces & Tycoons Row. If you have a business, showcase it with your face as the owner of your web property. If you are an entrepreneur, then Tycoons Row is the place to showcase your dream. If you have a start-up to showcase, we want to hear about it.
This week, I am putting together plans & will be contacting everyone I know about Millionaire Faces. The stats for TycoonsRow has hit around 5,000 monthly. The main attraction will be a benefit to people here at Millionaire Faces as well, as I want to succeed in helping people. Therefore, I must make sure that Millionaire Faces is a sight people want to come & see.

It's not only a need, for what I'm doing, but also a drive & desire for doing something extradordinary and unique.
Thu Mar 15, 2007Making MovesWeb 2.0, technology, people & news. There is so much to do & so little time. I have been focusing on TycoonsRow.com for the past two weeks. We have received over 31 comments on one posts last week & have started to create a niche audience on the site. I'm hoping to keep that audience as time goes on, as the audience caters to an event I'm featuring on the site: Tycoons Quest. Tycoons Quest is my quest to attain a top running or winning the $1 million challenge on the CNBC Portfolio Challenge. You can view Tycoons Quest on the site.
Next, we have been steadily preparing for the next step in making Tycoons Row better. I have spent the last few days interviewing, which has taken me away from developing more content for the site, but meeting potential candidates for a premier feature that will be happening on Tycoons Row. I'm interviewing a partner that will be ushering in new content & allow us to engage more readers. I'm thinking this will be fantastic. After speaking with a venture capitalist last week, he thought the idea & concept was outstanding. I'm looking forward to getting on w/ the interviews & getting this out to our readers as soon as possible.
Fri Mar 09, 2007Tycoons Row is getting connectedYesterday, I attended the MIT Entrepreneurs Forum. I am a member of this group, where the mission is to promote and strengthen innovation at the intersection of business and
technology. The group serves as a "living labortory of entrepreneurs."
The event was great, I got to speak with some venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs who are creating & establishing their start-ups. This was a great event to network and gain insights & more content for Tycoons Row.
I was able to get some great footage of the event & also conducted a few interviews. Stay tuned, as I'm putting together the info for the site as we speak. I'll also review some of the technology & equipment that we used on the site as well.

I had one post, & it even wasn't my greatest, & already I'm looking at my Live plugin - which tracks the number of hits in real time & based on what post it was, also providing the IP address of where it came from. You have to check it out for youself, but, now my site has received some massive hits. I'm glad I've had some additional posts for the people to read now as well.
Mon Mar 05, 2007Tycoons Quest BeginsToday has started out exciting. I was able to begin one feature of my new-media publication - called Tycoons Quest. The Quest will be daily posts about the CNBC Million Dollar Portfolio Challenge. I am to win this challenge. It will be difficult because it's not like typical investing, but I have formulated a decent plan to get me started. Also, I've enlisted the aid of the blogosphere, gaining their insights & advice. I've began using Yahoo Answers to answer questions. You will be able to see some of the questions, I enlisted above. I will also be asking other questions which are not related to the challenge as well. Today, the market was a mess. But looking forward, I think will bring some volatile situations which I can definitely capitalize on.

The interviews will be conducted by creating a podcast and the format will be similar to Inside the Actors Studio hosted by James Lipton. Wed Feb 28, 2007Visitors Have Arrived at Tycoons RowI spent the day focusing on contacting people to show them what's happening on TycoonsRow.com. Evidently, after only telling a few people & posting a few articles, the hits to the site have skyrocketed. Check out my stats for the site using Google Analytics. I'm psyched. Also, more and more people are starting to comment on the site. This is definitely a plus & a valueable measure in any sense.
I've found that there is definitely a correlation between how many posts I make on the site on a daily basis to the number of readers that come to the site. So, it's a must to continue to post frequently & consistently. This is a must. One thing I do know is that my site is sticky, becuase on average, a visitors stays on the site for at least 4 minutes. That holds true that the content is interesting. Soon, I will be providing more information & features which will cater to my audience.
Tue Feb 27, 2007Innovation & Creativity Leads To OpportunityThis is a start to a great week. I just came across 2 Tycoons in the making, who have recently received $4 million in Venture Funding for their company. Their company was less then 24 months old. Basically, they took the concept of MySapce, which has taken over the world, and Facebook - which is bascially for College Students, and developed their own innovative company - -MyYearbook. It's very intriguing that at the age of 15, Catherine Cook & her brothers came together & built this innovative idea....an online yearbook.
This week, I'm preparing something fantastic. I've done all the research I can for the investment challenge. My goal overall, is to continue providing more profiles of business start-ups & entrepreneurs, as well as bring you some insights into finance & investing as I partake on this investment challenge. I need to first fulfill my goal of 9 posts per day. This should be simple enough, however, the challenge is time.....beating it everyday. It's 2:35 am EST....what are you doing? Am I beating time now?
Mon Feb 19, 2007All In A Days WorkMy plan was to only sleep 2 hours today, but, my body made me sleep a bit more than 8. So I got up a little late. Didn't get to complete everything I wanted too, but definitely made some great advancements. Today, I began the launch of Tycoons Quest. These will be posts & articles relating to the Stock Investment Portfolio challenge that I will take 2 months to compete on. Also, we were able to do 3 posts. I still want to get 6 more done for today, but right now it's about timing & additional obligations. A solution to this problem is to get a 3G standard blackberry mobile phone, which will allow me to be online 24/7. Some other great things that happened today, was we are starting our interview process. I'm consistently seeing a rise in the submittals for our next feature in which we will be unvailing soon. This is great & I'm hoping to develop some great partnerships & relationships. I really can't wait to get started. I just wish I had more time.
Sat Feb 17, 2007Preparing to Unleash The DragonOkay, I've capped off another week. Blogging definitely makes the week go by extremely fast. Starting tomorrow will be fascinating as I attempt to "gather" my research findings & share that information abroad. I'm finding there are just a slew of entrepreneurs cropping up all over the place, which is not only an inspiration but also will define my initiatives of finding interesting entrepreneurs, and gaining there insights on what it takes to succeed in these days & times.
I have so many ideas & concepts I'd like to bring. I will be focusing on a few for the moment & reaching out to people who may want to assist in the work that I'm trying to achieve. My first two goals is to make Tycoons Row successful & bring value to Millionaire Faces. This is what I live for.

Profiled this site on Tycoons Row. I thought this was pretty cool, being able to create your own comic strip. This is one of the future directions we'd like to take Millionaire Faces & the network. My vision is having a comic strip of "How To's" or comic strip about business. Something unique & interesting in the webspace.
Everyday is getting busier & busier. The past two days, I was focused on developing ideas to prepare for the Portfolio Challenge. In addition, I was on the road interviewing for our next feature for Tycoons Row. Wait & see what we got in store for everyone. One thing I realize however, is to focus on what we have rather add additional types of features & content. I think I'm at that point where I've got everything I need & just need to do the following: 1.) Create more content, and 2.) Get the word out there.

I've been preparing & researching methodologies for my investing strategy & preparing to blog about investing, in addition to gathering research on new & emerging companies and news going on in the web space. There's much to do & finding quality information is a key to this process. Again, my goal is to try & hit 9 articles posts per day. I've achieved it once so far. What's my excuse? I'm not sure if sleep is one at the moment, but sometimes the days run into each other & I do have to get a bit of sleep. Competition on the blogosphere is hot, & people are all vying for their own personal goals. My goal is to plainly provide great news to you as much as possible. In addition, building the Millionaire Face League. This is an important part of the process which I will focus a lot more on in the next couple of days.

I will start off with $1 million CNBC bucks and will have a fictional investment account. My goal is multi-fold - to get people to interact & comment on the site, provide some additional value to my readers, analyze social networking & participate in something fun. I guess you can say I like to multi-task.
Sat Feb 10, 2007Blogging Is A LifestyleWe've wrapped a good week of blogging, profliing companies, and featuring some interesting news stories. Right now, our goal is to continue to do this more & more. We have set some hefty goals in mind, as you can see in the previous posts, but I'm prepared to start doing them.
We added not only some technical features to the site, but also some additional features to Tycoons Row: such as Quick Bytes - How To & Tips articles. And added some functionality to the posts so that I will be able to add additional content to the video & Legacy Builders section. It's definitely a work in progress.
Right now, I've got a hush-hush idea on the way. Yea, maybe I should be letting you know what it is, but the saying goes, "Loose Lips Sink Ships." Overall, the concept will allow us to brand out site more & also allow us to be more "sticky". Currently, people come to the site & stay an average of at least 9 minutes! This is outstanding. Tomorrow, I will start to release some of our stats.
Today, I will be spending the day contacting everyone I know about the site.
Overall, the goal at Millionaire Faces is to become the first online venture capital firm to be developed by the web 2.0 community. We will do this by developing the Millionaire Face League -- a first come, first served opportunity, that will be an exclusive, members-only organization. To become a member, all one has to do is purchase an M-Block, which will feature your photo & a direct link to your personal or business website. Increase the traffic to your site, and be recognized for the business or work that you are doing.

Today, I updated my profile at Snapvine so now people can call & leave a comment on my posts. Currently, people are not able to comment on the M-Blog, so I wanted an easy way for the readers to at least contact me. Now, anyone can call & comment in one of two ways - -

Another update was for our TycoonsRow.com blog. I've updated some functionality that was long overdue as my goal is to provide some future & great content for everyone to read. The hardest part right now, is making sure everything is consistently operating efficiently. I'm about 96% at the point.
Thu Feb 08, 2007A Good Day for Tycoons RowYesterday was a great day for TycoonsRow.com. I was able to break a news story before some of the A-List bloggers came out with it. To view the post, you can go to Hurley & Chen Cashes In. I was able to live up to a portion of my goal, which was to complete 3 news stories. The other half is to profile about 6 businesses per day.
Overall, I spent most of the day gathering facts & setting up a system that will allow me to do research on the net. In addition, I've been coming up with ideas that might be interesting, such as a "Did You Know" or a Tycoons Top Ten List for the day. I think this will be some added content and also streamline some interesting tidbits for our readers.
Mon Feb 05, 2007The Tycoons Row Evolution I just read a interesting article at Read/Write/Web, regarding what readers want to read and keep them coming back to his site. With the article, he had a poll which listed what type of content readers wanted, such as Web Analysis, Start-up reviews, Web Tech, etc. This question came in mind from the TechCrunch Forum, where one forum member asked a question regarding the difference between 3 of the top blogs.
At this juncture for the A-List Bloggers need to better understand their audience. Additionally, this will allow bloggers to communicate with advertisers better. Additionally, it seems that blog readers are seeking "more", and specific types of enlightening or entertaining reads & content.
So this got me thinking of a niche direction I'd like to take TycoonsRow.com. So I analyzed our goals & plans and thought about our readers and future readers. At this juncture, my goals are the following:

Topics will include but not limited:

These are just some initial ideas of what I have in mind to grow my site and engage readers. As I'm getting started, this M-Blog will be a complementary blog to the operations of the venture company: Millionaire Faces, LLC and the new-media publication TycoonsRow.com.

Sun Feb 04, 2007Superbowl Thoughts Today is the day of Superbowl. This year, held in Miami, Fl, two teams going head to head of the ultimate yearly championship. It made me think of what it took these two teams to get there, as year after year, it must get harder & harder. I had to remember back in my athletic days on what I did win and go to my track & field championships. It took me 3 months of strength training, and an unreal laser sharp focus and just the belief in myself on what I wanted to achieve. Since then, college school work, practice, and the goals I came across was a piece of cake.
The difference between the athletes in the Superbowl and myself is that these pro-athletes were getting paid to do what they do. It's also how they put food on the table for their families. So, I wonder if the passion is different between what one needs to do, versus what one wants to do. My passion for Millionaire Faces relies on both....I "NEED" to do this and I "WANT" too. This is what makes it all worthwhile.
Tue Jan 30, 2007Setting Up Shop This is going to be a great week. I cannot even believe we are already going into February! Some great things have been happening at Millionaire Faces as well as Tycoons Row. I will be sharing that info with you during the upcoming week. So far, all I've been doing is preparing the business in every form and fashion.
For the past week, we have been setting up various business accounts. These accounts include accounts online as well as banking. Most importantly is our banking accounts for the company. In addition, we have set up our EIN which is like a social security number but for companies. An EIN is a federal tax id distributed by the IRS so that you can officially pay taxes on the income that is generated from the business, as well as identify & categorize your business. Getting an EIN is just one of the steps to getting your company established.
Sat Jan 27, 2007There Will Always Be A RoadblockIf you fail to plan, you plain to fail. This is true in every sense of the word, but also note that sometimes, plans don't always go "according to plan," and some things are just out of your control. Today, we had a set goal in mind, however, due to unforseen circumstances, like doing extra editing on my site & adding plug-ins when I shouldn't have, I spent the day & still now, trying to fix the problems and issues. But it takes time, and my goal was to research more companies of where they stand today, and share them on the site at TycoonsRow.com.
Oh well, there will always be obstacles. I just got to overcome them. And I will. Right now, I'm working steadfast on getting these technical issues fixed. Also, at the same time researching & writing some great articles for you all to read.
Thu Jan 25, 2007To Make History, we must first Understand it.One of the missions on my media publication at Tycoons Row is to learn about companies as well as emerging entrepreneurs. I understand that many people already know about many companies existing today, but there are people out there that are not in the "know." Also, for my own personal reference, I'd like to reference my thoughts, my way. I think that is the freedom the net provides for us.
So, in the next few weeks, I will be profiling companies, as well as a history of business moguls that have changed their respective industries in various ways. My aim is to understand the past so that we can challenge the present and respond to the future.

Wed Jan 24, 2007Delays Make Me StrongerThis is definitely going to be an dddexciting week. So far, I've had some delays, getting isses straighten out with my hosting server with Midphase. My sites have been on the blink and I am destined to find out why. Is it the software content management systems I'm running? (one customized & one is wordpress). Or is it the server? Could it be my plain old Internet Connection? Or is it just me.....
Well, I'm no pointing fingers, but I know it definitely is not me. The Internet Connection is the best in the area, which is DSL, completely encrypted & charging at 54 MBPS. The CMS, I thought it could be with wordpress, but there are support forums for issues like that. My customized MillionaireFaces site, is litearlly perfected and hasn't had issues before. I'm just getting started. That leaves only one place for the issues to be happening....with my hosting server. They are great, on the side of getting the service to you. However, I've had this strange little problems that I indeed must get to the bottom of immediately.
Other than that, I've spent the day conducting research, contacting people, preparing for interviews. This is definitely a lot of work. I'm glad I cleaned my room....and my desktop icons.

Mon Jan 22, 2007The First Stage of Business Planning Many people have different ways of creating or developing a company. At the end of the day, it comes down to a few basic concepts: 1.) Planning, 2.) Executing and 3.) Following Through. When I came up with the idea for Millionaire Faces and Tycoons Row, I wanted to develop something that I enjoyed, touched on the things I believed in and were interested in. All this definitely took some planning. But before all this planning, you may have already had other things in your life that have taken up your time, such as your current job, or maybe a significant other. For me, I needed to get myself organized. Organization is and will be a primary key to success in this endeavor. For the goal of creating and developing a 300,000 membership organization will take extreme organization and a time commitment. I'm more than ready for this task. So, in effect, what did I do to become efficient in my life and become organized? I cleaned up my room & the desktop icons on my laptop.

Tue Jan 16, 2007The Genesis: Millionaire Faces in an Information Age World In the next few days, I will explain to you a bit more about the site and what we are aiming to accomplish. We have a long road ahead of us for our goals, however, I just want to make sure that I'm having not only fun but making this a great experience for my readers.
As of 3am this morning, here are some simple stats based on Google Analytics from our 2 sites:
1. Millionaire Faces -- Jumped from 7 visits and 15 pageviews to 17 visits and 87 pageviews.
2. Tycoons Row -- Jumped from 6 visits and 14 pages views to 19 visits and 70 pageviews.
This was all in the course of only 4 hours. Our goal, is to get at minimum of 200,000 visits daily. Why this goal? I think this is a fair and reasonable goal of having a great audience of readers. Especially when they could be reading about themselves! This brings me to let you know what Millionaire Faces is all about.
The M-Blog (Millionaire Blog) will be a partner blog along with Tycoons Row, our new-media publication. Mon Jan 15, 2007The Dream Begins AgainWe all have dreams, and it takes passion, drive and just a will to succeed to make those dreams come alive. For the past 8 months, I've been living a dream and today marks the beginning of making it reality.
Martin Luther King had a dream and it took many years to fulfill it. My vision with this new company, Millionaire Faces, LLC has 3 main rules and goals in mind. They are to: 1.) Work Hard, 2.) Never Give Up, and 3.) Love What I'm doing. These, I feel are the key ingredients to make a company successful.
